| Traders and Visitors think the market is a big success.
The recent Farmers Market, held on Saturday 10 December (as part of the Christmas Events Programme), has been hailed as a big success by the attending traders and those who visited. There was a wide variety of goods on sale and many local organisations and traders took part in the market this time around. Broxburn & Uphall Traders' Association would like to thank the events company (Forum Events), who braved the snow at such an early hour to set up the stalls and also West Lothian Council's Economic Development Officer (Hazel Hay), who put so much work into preparing this and all the other events. We took a few pictures at some of the various events on the day, these have just added to a new album in our Photo Gallery, meantime you can click on the thumbnails below to view a larger image.

Flowering Baskets for Broxburn & Uphall
| Project led by Broxburn & Uphall Traders' Association nears completion.
Local residents will benefit from flower displays this winter and again next summer thanks to a partnership between Broxburn and Uphall Traders' Association (BUTA) and West Lothian Community Safety Unit, which is a partnership between West Lothian Council and Lothian and Borders Police. The new flowering baskets are being prepared by Williamston Garden Centre and will all be security marked with the latest UV micro finger printing system. It is also hoped that local schools will be involved in planting the baskets. The scheme is being funded from the Town Centre Regeneration fund and by Broxburn and Uphall Traders' Association. This has turned out to be a real community project with the Town Centre Management Group, Local Businesses (BUTA), West Lothian Council, Williamson Florists, Lothian and Borders Police and our local schools all being involved. We are delighted that West Lothian Community Safety Unit has provided the security marking kits for the baskets and our members are looking forward to displaying them. |
